Dexter Benoit began his legal career in Chicago, Illinois with a focus on both complex commercial civil litigation and criminal law. Prior to founding the Firm, Mr. Benoit practiced law at both a large law firm with more than 200 attorneys, as well as a smaller boutique litigation firm with fewer than 10 lawyers. Mr. Benoit’s civil practice focused on large scale personal injury-product liability actions, breach of warranty claims on behalf of a major automotive manufacturer and general breach of contract concerns between corporations. During his career Mr. Benoit has participated in countless trials, mediations, arbitrations and settlements involving wide ranging claims and dollar amounts. Mr. Benoit’s clients have ranged in size from individuals and small businesses to Fortune 500 companies and municipalities. |

In addition to his civil practice, Mr. Benoit has represented numerous criminal clients facing charges ranging from DWIs and DUIs, criminal battery and sexual abuse, criminal orders of protection and drug charges. Mr. Benoit spent several months learning from some of North Carolina’s leading defense attorneys while at the Federal Defender’s Office in Raleigh, North Carolina. In addition, he has volunteered his time with First Defense Legal Aid in Chicago, Illinois, an organization designed to help ensure the constitutional rights of those individuals who have been arrested by law enforcement. |

| At the University of Illinois College of Law, a school which consistently ranks among the 25 best law schools in the United States, Mr. Benoit was a Lincoln Scholar and received recognition for his oral advocacy skill. Prior to law school, Mr. Benoit graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he was a double major in History and Political Science. He was also a captain on the university’s only National Championship Mock Trial team. He is admitted to practice law in both Illinois and North Carolina. | |||
